I'm a member of the Sheffield branch of the Society for the Study of Swordsmanship [External Link]. Their web-site is a little bare at the moment but I won't go into what we do in depth. Suffice it to say that they are a member group of the British Federation for Historical Swordplay [External Link].

So, I'm studying small-sword (Wikipedia background here: [External link]) and military sabre (Wikipedia background here: [External link]) - and I'm starting to put together my collection of training weapons. I have to admit I'm also tempted by sharps but so far I'm standing by my vow not to let them in the house. Except the carving set and the odd cooking knife, which are resident in the kitchen.
