This is the family history of the Pembroke THOMASes as prepared by my first cousin twice removed, Doris Irene CUMMING nee JEFFERIES about 1979. I've uploaded everything as jpeg images below the read more line. It will be very bandwidth intensive. Hopefully everything is of a size that you can read. If not, Contact Me and I will supply a better version. Also, please note that I have blacked out any birth dates after 1919 where the person in question may be alive. Just in case of identity theft and all that.

A cutting from the Tongwynlais parish magazine has been used for the front cover. This dates the document to February 1980, but I believe it was compiled slightly before at the end of 1979.

A brief paragraph on family origins and on the "three brothers" (see the Pembroke THOMASes for further comment).

Note the reference to the second Universal Colliery mining disaster. William Frederick THOMAS was also working there during the first - although not down the pit at the actual time.

This page holds my immediate family. My grandfather was William John THOMAS. I was born in March 1980 and therefore missed being included!

Also, blacked out dates start here!

Yes, truly there has been many hours spent. A clear
copy would be terrific. Sharon, usually the names
and dates of anyone still living, is not used in
genealogy for the public to view. Usually there is
an indication of children but not the name or any
details if still living. I would be delighted to
receive a better copy. I'm a Thomas descendant, both
maternal and paternal. I have likewise hit some huge
brick walls going beyond my grgr grandparents in
SC, VA, GA and into FL as pioneer families.

Hi Jo,

I'm impressed with the amount of work that has been put into this book. However, I'm curious as to why the dates were blocked out. In my case, I've hit a brick wall and dates are just about all I'm able to use to find my line andget past the proferbial "brick wall".

I'd like to suggest that you download a clearer copy. It is rather difficult to read.
